Parole chiare al World Economic Forum di Gill Pratt, Chief Scientist di Toyota Motor Corporation e CEO del Toyota Research Institute
Toyota continua a non mandarle a dire: il futuro non potrà essere esclusivamente delle auto elettriche.
Il colosso giapponese tramite le parole di Gill Pratt, Chief Scientist di Toyota Motor Corporation e CEO del Toyota Research Institute ed ex ricercatore del MIT di Boston, ha delucitato la situazione la sua visione al World Economic Forum di Davos.
Pratt ha illustrati il percorso multi-tecnologico del Gruppo nella sessione intitolata “Reinventare la ruota“, ha spiegato come arrivare allo zero netto minimizzando l’accumulo di carbonio. Ci sono varie strade.
Auto elettriche: non possono essere una soluzione globale
“Mentre i veicoli a zero emissioni, compresi i veicoli elettrici a batteria, saranno la soluzione nel lungo termine, l’attuale carenza di litio e l’insufficiente infrastruttura di ricarica impediscono nel breve termine un passaggio globale a queste soluzioni tecnologiche“.
La questione del litio
Pratt ha spiegato come, date le condizioni attuali e in questo periodo di transizione, sia possibile velocizzare il processo di decarbonizzazione producendo veicoli elettrici a batteria e altri veicoli elettrificati che impiegano molto meno litio. Una questione cruciale per il prossimo decennio.
